Tarleton's Jig is a highly successful ensemble of professional musicians who specialise in playing early musical instruments and who explore the lighter side of the popular repertoire. Tarleton's Jig performs a wide spectrum of popular English music from the Middle Ages to the 18th century with a particular emphasis on the 16th and 17th centuries.

They can entertain both indoors and outdoors; raucous mediaeval bagpipe tunes, delicate Elizabethan lute duets and songs, traditional English country dances and witty Restoration ballads.
